The New Brunswick Road Network (NBRN) v2.0 contains quality geospatial data inNew Brunswick Road Network (NBRN) - Réseau routier du Nouveau-Brunswick (RRNB) a GIS ESRI Geodatabase format. It is being developed by the Government of New Brunswick (GNB) to be a consolidated provincial road database that will be readily available to all data stewards. Service New Brunswick (SNB) initiated this project in 2012. It will continue over a series of four stages ending in March 2014. Version 2.0, produced during Stage two, was completed May 21, 2013. The NBRN draws on data from a number of reference datasets with cooperation from Ambulance New Brunswick, Department of Transportation, Department of Natural Resources, Department of Public Safety and Service New Brunswick. The full NBRN data model consists of two linear entities (Road Segment and Ferry Connection Segment) and three point entities (Junction, Blocked Passage, Toll Point). Addressing information (address range, street name and place name) is linked to Road Segment entities in three distinct tables (Address Range, Street and Place Names and Alternate Name Link). The NBRN data model is closely aligned to the Natural Resources Canada National Road Network model. More information on the NRN model can be found on NRCan's Geobase website at: www.geobase.ca/geobase/en/data/nrn/description.html.
NBRN Code Tables are based on the NRN definitions. Additional code values have been added to meet New Brunswick needs.
The Road Segment feature class contains linear representations of NB road portions with uniform characteristics. Addressing information (address range, street name and place name) is distributed in three distinct tables (Address Range, Street and Place Names and Alternate Name Link) and is attached to the Road Segment feature class using national unique identifiers (NID). |
